Web hosting provider HostMySite.com is offering ColdFusion 8 shared web hosting plans, it was announced yesterday. According to the company, it is the first provider to offer ColdFusion 8 Enterprise Edition to its hosting offerings. HostMySite, an Adobe Solution Partner, was also the first to offer the beta version of the solution, codenamed “Scorpio”.
According to the company, ColdFusion 8 is a “fast and easy way to create Internet applications. It solves the day-to-day challenges faced by developers, integrates in complex enterprise environments and delivers rich and engaging application experiences for users”. Particularly well suited to dynamic Internet applications using a variety of databases, ColdFusion enables developers to extend and customize the ColdFusion scripting language, CFML, through custom tags, reusable object-based components and user-defined functions, as well integrate with Java, .NET and SOAP web services.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer this highly-anticipated full release on the same day as its official release from Adobe,” explained HostMySite.com’s Director of Marketing, Monish Sood. “HostMySite.com is dedicated to a strong relationship with Adobe ColdFusion and the ColdFusion developer community.”
“HostMySite.com has been very good to me,” added Adobe’s Senior Technical Evangelist, Ben Forta. “They’ve given me a lot of flexibility in playing around. Even before they offered ColdFusion 8 Beta hosting, my own sites were running on the ColdFusion 8 Alpha version at HostMySite.com as well. They have been very committed to ColdFusion from the very beginning.”
Established in 1997, HostMySite.com offers a range of hosting options geared to small businesses and large corporations. These include Virtual Private Servers (VPS), and shared hosting. The company has been offering ColdFusion since the solution’s inception.
